Deccofelt is the premier, direct hot melt adhesive coater on the West
Coast. Adhesive backed materials are efficient, economical, and convenient,
without environmental issues or messy sprays. We have been developing creative
solutions for our customers for over 55 years. Deccofelt specializes in
applying adhesive coatings to foam, fabric, felt, film, cork, foils, and
rubber materials. Adhesive types include: pressure sensitive, heat activated,
moisture cure, rubber, acrylic, EVA, polyester, polyamide, urethane, and
APO.
This
trade show pop-up booth has fabric bonded by Deccofelt to a flexible
plastic backing and adhesive magnetic strips that secure it to the
metal frame.
Our specialties include:
- Custom coatings, one or two sides (double coated)
- Web width capabilities from 0.5" – 74",
- Adhesive coating thickness from 0.001” – 0.015”
- Permanent, repositionable, or low-tack removable adhesives.
- Pattern and 100% coating with Pressure-Sensitive, Heat-Activated and
high temperature thermoset adhesives
- Direct or transfer coatings w/ easy release protective liners
- Freezer grade to 600+ F
- High Peel / High Shear adhesives
- Processes: extrusion, gravure, roll to roll, & precast films
Deccofelt combines a variety of materials using multiple laminating processes.
We help engineer and manufacture to your desired material requirements through
the combination and availability of thousands of substrates and adhesive systems.
Performance options include, but are not limited to moisture barriers, increased
durability, thermo formable, desired flexibility (hand), non-skid, protection
barriers, temperature extremes, and sound & thermal insulation.
- Web width capabilities: 0.5"-74"
- Laminates up to 2" thick
- Breathable or barrier coatings
- Capabilities in combining multiple substrates
These
nail files are composed of several layers of laminated materials, including
the top abrasive surface.
Deccofelt can die-cut, slit, and sheet materials and laminates into a
variety of shapes and sizes from ¼” diameters to larger and
more intricate parts. Our rotary, steel rule, and clicker die presses customize
your products to your specifications. Die-cut parts can be supplied with
adhesive backing for “peel & stick” applications, or without
adhesive. Parts may be designed aesthetically for visible use such as automotive
sunshades, cork coasters, and cabinet doors, or geared primarily for performance,
economics and labor efficiency for automotive and construction products
such as sound & sealant gaskets and thermal insulation. Custom packaging
is also offered for retail displays.
Our capabilities include:
- Process: rotary, steel rule & clicker
- Web widths up to 75"
- Max. die – cut area: 42" x 59"
- Can sheet materials up to 75" wide, and lengths from 1/8 inch
to 12 ft
- Available as individual parts or kiss-cut on rolls
- Roll slitting up to 40" in diameter
- Process materials up to 72" wide
Deccofelt's 50+ years of experience in adhesive coating enables us to
meet the needs of our evolving and ever demanding markets. These services
include working with customers to create solutions in design, performance,
materials, tooling & production processes, environmental concerns,
and ease of customer application. R&D continuously improves our material
choices and production methods as Deccofelt constantly works with adhesive
chemists and material manufacturers to incorporate new and applicable technology
into its products.

Deccofelt has developed a process of bonding pressure sensitive
adhesives to sheet rubber. Most sheet rubber goods have difficult
to bond to surfaces. Typical processing has been to roller or spray
on a messy, costly, environmentally-unfriendly solvent-based contact
cement as a primer, let it cure, and then apply a pressure sensitive
adhesive over this coating. The final bond to the sheet rubber is
still easy to peel off.
Deccofelt has developed a one-step process that achieves a much
stronger bond of pressure sensitive adhesives to most sheet rubber
roll goods. It is also cleaner, less costly, and uses no solvents.

Laminating adhesives present two problems during thermoforming
processes. They can either soften to the point where the substrates
delaminate, or they inhibit the ability of the substrates to
conform to the desired shapes.
Deccofelt now laminates many substrates for thermoforming where the adhesive
maintains its bond at elevated temperatures, yet has the elasticity needed to
stretch and bend into a 3-D shape.

Laminations of similar
and dissimilar materials may require high temperature resistance
for OEM processing
or end use applications. Deccofelt is laminating high temperature
films, foams, fabrics, and metal foils that are used in automotive
engine compartments and electronics where successful tests have
exceeded 600 F |
